The Air Show!

Yesterday was our annual trip to the Air Show at Andrews AFB in Maryland. Jeremy is really into these planes, so even knowing that he would pay for it by working all day and night today, it was worth it. The weather was a big ? all day, but turned out beautifully.

Rudy wasn't afraid to show off his guns for Batman!

Rudy covered his eyes and refused to look at Wolverine. Too cute! :)

The boys put on some "fatal vision" goggles which make you feel drunk. Then they had to walk the yellow line and try to shoot a basket. It was quite entertaining. What was even more fun to watch was the adults trying to do it. It looked like a scene from Cops doing a sobriety test on the side of the road. :-)

Jake.........I just don't know what to say about this boy......He HATES loud noises, so the air show isn't exactly his cup of tea. In addition to the head phones and blanket, he also had ear plugs....and he still got upset. We tend to do EVERYTHING together as a family, but I think that we'll give Jake the option of staying home next year.

Disney World

This was so sweet. The night before we left for Disney, we were up late packing and getting the last things ready to go and I came up the stairs to find Jacob asleep on the steps in his underpants. :)

We were really thankful that Grandma came with us. We tend to wander around and not do a whole lot when we're on our own, so with Bobbie there, she knew all of the best rides to go on and always got us fast passes for those rides. She may be hard to keep up with, but she made sure that we made the most of every day at the park. If it weren't for her I wouldn't have gotten to go on the Tower of Terror or some of the other rides that Jeremy is too chicken to go on. :) (Jeremy will be pissed when he reads that!) Thanks Grandma!!

This group, Mulch, Sweat N' Shears was in Hollywood Studios. They were a riot! If you ever go to Disney, you MUST see them. The guy in the red shirt is the band's "Manager" and he had us cracking up. He picked Bobbie out of the crowd to go up and rock out with the band (or in Jeremy and Aidan's words...jam out with her clam out). We laughed so hard at some the the things this guy was saying to people in the crowd. :)

Animal Kingdom was amazing! We didn't spend a whole lot of time there, and I wish we could have gone back, but I'm sure this won't be our last Disney trip. Thanks to Bobbie (again) we got to do the Safari Ride twice - with no wait. Rudy kept saying "I want to ride the bus with the aminals again!!!"

On our last day we went by bus and boat to tour some of the resorts. My favorite BY FAR was the Fort Wilderness Resort. It was gorgeous...and surprise, surprise - it's the resort where you go if you bring your RV. But really though, it was so peaceful...and that's just what you need after a day at a Disney park. :)
The kids were able to take pony rides, which they loved. Rudy's pony's name was Snickers and I can't remember Jake's pony's name...that's what I get for waiting a month to post a blog. :)

It was such a great trip. We could not have asked for better weather. Even the drive to and from Florida was a lot of fun. The kids were great and ask (almost on a daily basis) if we can go back. I am so thankful that we were able to go and look forward to going again in a few years...maybe even in an RV!!! :) Rudy was just a couple inches too short to go on some of the best rides and he's the one that (I think) will love the fast rides. Jeremy and Jacob both prefer to sit the scary ones out, so Rudy better like the roller coasters because I need a riding buddy.

Better Late Than Never....Happy Easter!!!!

We've had a VERY busy couple months and it doesn't look like that's gonna change for a while, but I'm glad to be getting back to putting up some pictures on the blog. Sorry it's been so long!!!

Easter was fantastic!!! Every year the kids to a scavenger hunt to find their Easter Baskets and it's so much fun to watch them run around the house gathering clues (at the point it's just pictures, but they'll get harder as they get older).

We had lots of fun coloring Easter Eggs. It went from a nice, clean, organized event - to the kids painting themselves. They had so much fun and Steven is too cute. He just wants to do whatever Jake and Rudy do.

I think Jacob got to do three Easter egg hunts this year. Between school and home and friends we are loaded up on Easter candy. I think I will give it out for Halloween. :) hahaha

I learned how to use a scanner!

Jake wrote this letter to Jeremy a while back and it's been hanging on the wall down in the office. Since I learned how to use a scanner today, I thought I'd share it with everyone (and show off my scanning skills).

You'll notice that Jake made the cookie for Jeremy's birthday, which is on April 18th and the letter was written on October 2. :)
